Kendrick lamar album To pimp a butterfly set's new global streaming
Kendrick Lamar has his new album, To Pimp a Butterfly, out only for a couple of days and has already broken a record. While fans are still trying to comprehend and digest it in a proper way, they have helped the Compton native to achieve a new milestone.
Aside from Top Dawg blamingInterscope for the early drop of the project, TDE faced one more problem in the first few hours of the release when the project was not available via various retailers, including iTunes. Apparently, this made people go online and play it on platforms such as Spotify. One the first 24 hours passed,To Pimp a Butterfly was streamed about 9.6 million times across the globe.
The CEO of TDE, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, spilled the beans on Twitter, sharing the exciting news.
“To Pimp a Butterfly was streamed 9.6m times on the 1st day. new global record 4 the most streams in a single day worldwide by a new release.”
When Drizzy dropped his new album,If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, a month ago, he broke his own achievement for most streams from an album in its debut week in the U.S. with 17.3 million streams. We totally see Kenny breaking that record as well.
